1. Overview

Rounding Errors is an app for clinicians. Each day it presents a short clinical scenario and a plausible AI-generated answer (“Dr. AI”). You add the human judgment the AI missed in a free-text note, then hand off to the Learner+ reflective-practice activity for continuing-education credit.

We designed the app to collect as little as possible and to keep the most sensitive content — your written clinical judgment — out of any AI model. This policy explains exactly what we collect, where it goes, and what we never do with it.

We do not:

2. The accounts and services this app connects to

Rounding Errors is part of the Learner+ platform. It signs you in to your existing Learner+ account and shares that platform’s backend infrastructure.

When you use Rounding Errors, the Learner+ Privacy Policy also applies to the reflection activity and to your Learner+ account profile. See the Learner+ privacy policy.

3. Information we collect

3.1 Phone number (for sign-in)

We sign you in using your mobile phone number and a one-time SMS verification code (Firebase Phone Authentication). Your phone number is transmitted to Firebase to send the verification text and to establish your account identity. We do not use email or social sign-in.

3.2 Your account profile (read from Learner+)

Once signed in, the app reads your existing Learner+ clinician profile so it can greet you and display your credential. This may include your first name, last name, email address, professional credential, specialty, and NPI (National Provider Identifier). This profile is owned and managed by Learner+; Rounding Errors only reads it and never modifies it.

3.3 Your clinical notes and activity (“rounds”)

When you complete a round, we store the following in your private, account-scoped area of the Firebase Realtime Database:
